Doggie Containment Device

Just a visual for all of you who have never seen the doggie containment device. This is to contain Mom and Dad's (formerly mine during high school) dog. She is a little OCD/Claustrophobic/Manipulative/General Crazy. She chewed out of a plastic dog crate ( like the one you see in the background that belongs to Delilah). She is on Xanex twice a day now. It is a rough life for Dixie.

I'm sure when Dad delivered the dog crate for the weekend all the neighbors wondered why in the world we thought we needed a bob cat in addition to our schnauzers. Little did they know...it was for a black Labrador!

Just an Old Brownie

Today I went to a children's museum with day camp. I am enjoying only working here and there this summer. It is pretty nice. After the museum we went to a local park to play and enjoy the beautiful, but overcast day we had. On the way out of the bus one of the counselors saw a kid with something in his pocket. She said, "Mark*, what is that in your pocket?"

Mark said, "Nothing, just an old brownie."

That is why I love day camp. The random things that you get to see and hear.

The One About Tom's Shoes

Today Phillip and I were watching some show about the top 40 pranks of all time. It was on MTV. Then this commercial came on...

It is the one about Tom's Shoes and AT&T. I said, " I would really like some of those. I think they are pretty cool."

To which Phil replied, "Those aren't real. They're just making that up for the AT&T spot."

I laughed because I was sure that I had seen them in magazines. Check out the website, but they really do give away a pair of shoes for each one you buy. And if you look at the prices, I can believe that because you are pretty much buying two pairs of shoes each time. They are pretty "rustic" looking too. I could wear some, and the little kiddo ones are just adorable, too!

Phil challenged me and I looked it up, and sure enough they were real. We came to the conclusion that we don't think the men's and women's are as cool and cute as the baby ones, but I haven't every seen any in real life. Who am I to judge??

Happy 4th of July!

The dogs have donned their bandannas, and they're ready. We have an extra dog for the weekend. One that is very afraid of the 4th of July. She is trying to be brave, because she doesn't want to look like a sissy dog in front of Samson and Delilah. Dixie has even decided to share her doggie bed with Delilah.

Samson isn't interested in sharing a doggie bed with anyone...

Sweetness...

These little pups just love each other. Phil and I were sitting at the table one afternoon this week, and he told me to look down. Lucky for us the camera was on the table, and I could snap this cute little picture. My dogs are some of the most photographed dogs, but they do such cute stuff and I just can't resist!!

Monday's Shopping Loot

I got all these books at the local bookstore. As you can see, many of them were only $3-$4, which I love. I read fast, so I always feel like I wasted money when I read a book too fast. I can read these as fast as I want to. The one book that I actually went to buy, they didn't have. So, I am still in the market to buy The Time Traveler's Wife.

Maybe you wish you weren't looking at a picture of my feet, but here they are anyways! I have been wanting some Yellowbox flip flops for quite some time now. All the kids at school are always asking me why I don't have any. Now I can say that I do! I went over to a local shoe store near our house, and found these cute shoes. Yellowbox flip flops...check!

The Not So Grand Tour

For fear of never showing you what our new place looks like, I am going to relent and show you our house not quite put together. We are still looking for/waiting for money to pay for a few key pieces of furniture around here. Namely, living room furniture:) In no order whatsoever, you will find pictures of the new place. Sorry for the random clutter you will see and things not quite finished or unpacked. I know some of you have been waiting though...

Our nook in our kitchen. It houses food, serving ware, my KitchenAid mixer, and my trusty homemade recipe books.

We bought this neat little table off of Craigslist. I told the guy that he was some strange guy when I e-mailed him and meant to e-mail my mom! Whoops! Anyways, he turned out nice and we bought this fun little table and two stools for $50. I just rearranged this when I got up this morning. Mom, do you like it???

Here is the main part of our kitchen. It might not look like much counter space to you, but it sure is to us! If you saw our old townhouse, you will know why we appreciate this. Our washer and dryer are stacked next to the back door and our stove/oven is across the way. I spared you a picture of that since you know what that looks like.

The office/music room. It is a little cluttery right now, but we are getting things together. Phil's guitars also live in here! He has so much more space to play than before, and he can play as loud as he wants. Sherman, our African leopard fish, also lives in here, much to Phillip's dismay...

Our half bath in the master. Nothing special, and all original, I think!

Our bedroom. I still need to hang some pictures on that far wall, and the other side of the room needs a dresser. I didn't take a picture of that side. Just imagine what it looks like sans dresser. That means clothes.every.where.

In the guest bedroom, I actually had space this time to display the wonderful quilt that my grandma gave us for our wedding. It is so pretty and I am happy to be able to have it out and not all folded up.

The guest bedroom. There is another twin bed trundle under there. Feel free to come and visit us now. You won't have to sleep practically at the computer desk like before when our spare bed was right next to the computer!

An exciting feature of this house! A linen closet...yeah! Note the wonderful polka dotted shelf paper that my fantastic mom came over and put in the bathrooms and kitchen. She is so good to me! This will be more organized in the near future. I want to get some baskets and stuff to help separate things.

Bathroom. Self-explanatory.

Our living room in need of desperate help. Our tv is on our coffee table. We have a loveseat that is older than my brother and one chair. We are in the market for pretty much everything for the living room except a coffee table. We found a couch and chair we like and an entertainment center, but we have to wait:( There is also an enormous coat closet behind the front door!

Dining area.
